For more than 25 years, LaPorte County’s Economic Development organizations have worked together to strengthen the county’s communities.
The recent 2025 Investor Social event marked not only the successful completion of the last campaign but also kicked off the next in order to support development, growth and momentum throughout LaPorte County.
Businesses or organizations looking to be part of the 2026-28 Economic Development Investment Campaign can connect with Laura Francesconi at lauraf@laportepartnership.com.
Michigan City and La Porte’s leadership teams are seeking early participants in the campaign. Investor pledges by Aug. 31 will be spotlighted as Leading Investors in promotion, marketing and social media channels. Pledges are charitable as they are through the Unity Foundation of LaPorte County.
“The last campaign was the first to exceed our goal,” Francesconi said. “We all continue to come together as a business community,” she said. “Our communities are thriving because of your investments. We are truly grateful for your contributions.”
EDCMC Executive Director Clarence L. Hulse said the collaborative and competitive spirit sparks synergy in a style that is unique and productive.
“Our investors are a vital part of our progress and momentum,” Hulse said. “We all work jointly and have amazing partnerships.”
Michigan City Mayor Angie Nelson Deuitch said the city’s path of propulsion has roots in key partnerships.
“Michigan City is on the move and has a lot going on. It takes people like you to invest in our cities and invest in our partnership with La Porte to keep things going,” she said. “These projects have been in the works for a long time. It did not happen overnight. We need to keep things move forward.”
“Both of our communities continue to benefit from the regional perspective that is shared by our mayors,” added Executive Director at La Porte Economic Advancement Partnership Bert Cook.
