The City of Michigan City is seeking community input to frame the future of a proposed Innovation Center designed to support entrepreneurs, small businesses, creatives, technologists and remote workers.

Community members are invited to complete the online survey by June 30 via this link.

The survey is expected to take 5 to 7 minutes to complete, and its goal is to gather insights that will directly inform the updated feasibility study for this project.

Originally studied in 2021, the Innovation Center aims to foster economic growth, innovation and collaboration within the region. Recognizing the evolving needs of the community and the dynamic nature of workspaces, the city is revisiting the feasibility study to ensure the project aligns with current demands and opportunities.

The survey, “Help Shape Michigan City’s Future Innovation Center,” seeks input on various aspects, including desired amenities, potential usage, program interests and perceived community impact. It is open to all residents, business owners, entrepreneurs and stakeholders interested in contributing to the city’s economic development.

The proposed Innovation Center is envisioned as a dynamic hub that offers: flexible co-working spaces and private offices, meeting and conference rooms, event and training facilities, research & development/creative makerspaces and labs, childcare support, business development and mentorship programs, digital skills and professional development workshops and technology enhanced trainings.
