Michigan City Project of the Year

The Franklin at 11th Street Station – Flaherty & Collins

The mixed-use high-rise project was sparked by the renovations of the 11th Street Station and grew from the initial idea of just a parking garage. The Franklin is an apartment community with more than 220 studio one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment homes with walkability to the community and direct access to Chicago.

Phoenix Awards spotlight businesses that have transformed a space or existing building in Michigan City to reinvigorate the spot and launch a new chapter. The “rising-from-the-ashes” reinventive processes have cultivated a more impactful revival as well as additional offerings and services to boost our entrepreneurial community.
