The Board of Directors for the Economic Development Corporation Michigan City, Indiana (EDCMC) has announced the appointment of Brenda Temple to fill a vacancy through the end of this year which was left by the departure of Lief Erickson. Benda will begin a three year term starting in 2019 as the City of Michigan City appointee.
Brenda Temple has recently been named Vice President and General Manager at Blue Chip Casino, Hotel & Spa, Michigan City, Indiana. She is returning to Blue Chip from management positions at other Boyd Gaming properties. Temple’s career with Boyd Gaming spans nearly 14 years and began at Sam’s Town in Tunica, Mississippi, where she was Director of Finance. She was Director of Finance for Blue Chip Casino, Hotel & Spa for five years, Director of Operations for Gold Coast Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas for nearly four years and most recently was Assistant General Manager at Cannery Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas. “We are excited to have Brenda join our board of directors,” said EDCMC Executive Director, Clarence Hulse, “Blue Chip’s commitment to Michigan City over the years has been excellent and we are honored to have Brenda as our newest board member.”

The purpose of the EDCMC Board of Directors is to uphold the duties and mission of the organization which strives to grow and attract new industry and business to the community as well as strengthening existing business and also guide the staff in policy decisions, strategy, evaluation, and resources.
