Economic Development Corporation Michigan City, Indiana (EDCMC) recently elected the 2014 officers at a regular Board of Directors meeting Jan. 10.
Chuck Compton, who serves as the chief administrative officer of the Chicago South Shore & South Bend Freight RR, was re-elected chairman of the EDCMC Board. La Porte County Auditor Joie Winski was newly elected vice chairperson. In addition, John Schaefer, CPA, was re-elected secretary/treasurer.
All officers were elected into their roles unanimously by the EDCMC Board.
Other Board members include: Michigan City Mayor Ron Meer; Don Babcock, NIPSCO director of Economic Development; Tim Bietry, Michigan City councilperson; Ann Dahm, Michigan City Area Chamber of Commerce president; Tom Edwards, Horizon Bank president/COO; Bill Hackney, The News Dispatch publisher; Fred McNulty, HR Dimensions North executive vice president; and Peggy Moore, Dage-MTI co-owner.
The purpose of the EDCMC Board of Directors is to uphold the duties and mission of the organization, which strives to grow and attract new industry and business to the community as well as strengthening existing business.
Board leaders said EDCMC is looking forward to a great year ahead with a new Executive Director, Clarence Hulse, at the helm and the Strategic Initiatives Study to be completed by Crowe Horwath LLP next month.
